With our side loaders, GLOMB offers maximum flexibility in container handling, without the need for a crane, forklift or ramp. Containers can be loaded and unloaded directly at the customer’s premises. This enables efficient handling even in confined spaces and without additional handling equipment. This technology allows for fast, safe and location-independent loading and unloading, reducing waiting times and costly crane hire.

Our side loaders can transport all ISO standard containers from 10 to 45 feet. With a lifting capacity of up to 36 tonnes and a gross vehicle weight of up to 22,100 kilograms in long-distance transport or up to 26,100 kilograms in combined transport, we offer solutions for a wide variety of requirements. Moving containers onto ramps or railway wagons is also possible without any problems. Similarly, containers can be stacked or transferred directly between two modes of transport.

Typical areas of application include container handling for industrial customers without their own handling equipment, construction site and project transport, as well as temporary storage and container changes in local and hinterland transport. These versatile options allow our customers to remain flexible, regardless of location, infrastructure or external resources.

Frequently asked questions about side loaders

When is it advisable to use a side loader?

A side loader is always a good option if the customer does not have their own handling equipment or if space is severely limited. The container can be placed directly on the ground in the yard and picked up again at a later time. This provides flexibility during loading and unloading and reduces reliance on cranes or forklifts.

Which containers can be moved with side loaders?

Our side loaders are primarily designed for 20- and 40-foot containers. Depending on the model, two 20-foot containers can also be moved in a single operation. We check in advance whether the weight, container type and local conditions are compatible with the technical capabilities of the side loader.

What are the requirements for the site where a side loader is to be used?

The ground must be stable and level to ensure the side loader can operate safely. Sufficient manoeuvring space is also required to position the vehicle correctly.

Please note that the side loader can only lift to one fixed side.
