This week, we were able to collect two 20` DC containers using a side loader in Hamburg and transport them to a region in Thuringia.
Both containers were already loaded when we took them over and weighed around 6,000 kg each.
A particular challenge awaited us at the unloading point. The containers were not only to be unloaded together, but also stacked directly onto an existing 40-foot container at the customer’s premises.
We used our large Hammar Megareach side loader, which makes the safe stacking of containers possible without any problems.
However, it wasn’t quite as simple as just setting them down in pairs. There was still snow on the ground in the region, which made the conditions on site significantly more challenging and required the utmost precision.
Thanks to our Volvo FH combined with the powerful Hammar Megareach, everything went smoothly and exactly as the customer had requested.
Particularly pleasing: although our main driver was on holiday, our driver Georg mastered this task with confidence. It was his first time stacking containers ever.
This shows once again how important thorough training, good preparation and clear coordination within the team are. The result was a transport carried out on time and professionally, exactly as it should be.
