Sven out and about at the DRK Storchennest nursery
Sven is regularly out and about as part of road safety education – a topic that is becoming increasingly important in our daily work. A particular focus is on visits to nurseries such as the DRK Storchennest nursery, where everything revolves around safe behaviour on the roads.
The focus is primarily on children who are about to start pre-school and will be out on the roads much more frequently in future. Using our electric truck, Sven demonstrates to them how the ‘blind spot’ is created and why it can be so dangerous. The children also have the opportunity to learn about a truck driver’s workplace and experience just how restricted the view from the cab actually is.
Sven explains why this topic is particularly close to his heart:
“It’s important to me that road safety education starts as early as possible. Children need to become alert to traffic and develop an awareness of their surroundings. That’s why I take every opportunity to visit nurseries and schools with our truck.”
Experiences like these leave a lasting impression and give children greater confidence as they grow up.
